John began his experience as a Land Surveyor but soon moved to an American Sales Training Company based in Manchester. It was here where his passion for sales and customer / client relationship management began. In 1998 he set up a company called 'European Marketing Consultants' and so began a number of very successful sales and marketing companies. The company was set up to import specialised plumbing valves and fittings for heating systems and after a couple of years of trading, John was approached by a press fit manufacturer and asked to sell their ranges of Endfeed fittings throughout the UK. A couple of years after this, and after recognising Johns success with the challenge set for him, The company asked him to sell their ranges of Mechanical Press Fittings and Pipes. Again John managed to carve a niche and they found themselves as number 3 in the UK for Press Fittings. In 2004, and seeing the potential within the UK, The Company offered to buy 'European Marketing Consultants' from John and did so appointing him Managing Director.
The Company went on to enjoy fantastic success in the UK and under John's direction the company saw market share grow year on year. However, after 9 years and building this company from the ground up, John decided that he wanted a change and after lots (and lots) of consideration he decided that it was time to move on - and to do it all over again!
M-Press Fitings was born and the company began trading on 3rd March 2014 and since it's launch has enjoyed some good growth and already has a number of high profile projects and customers within it's young but wholly ambitious portfolio.
Mike's background has centered predominately around Distribution. His experience with BSS as a Sales Manager has allowed him to understand the role of the supplier/manufacturer and how to get the most from that. This has made him a very strong member of the team. It has enabled him to focus on specific areas of his role and maintain a very high regard and respect for all of his distributors. Mike's experience of Distribution has also been of valuable benefit to his colleagues. Mike joined The same Manfacturer as John, and has worked with John ever since. He has developed Scotland and the North of England and has increased his market share and grown his area effectively, year on year. On 3rd March 2014, Mike joined M-Press Fittings looking after the Northern Region sales and taking up the role of Sales Director for the UK and Ireland.
Marc joined Sharpe & Fisher Building Supplies in Cheltenham in 1993 as an Assistant Buyer. After the company's takeover by Travis Perkins in 1998, he joined the Cardiff South branch of TP as a Plumbing & Heating Stock Manager and then as their general Plumbing and Heating Manager. His first external sales role was with Vokera Boilers. He moved to Durapipe UK selling industrial and commercial pressure plastic systems into the M&E sector. After a few years he moved to the safety valve specialist, Reliance Water Controls as a Specification Sales Manager and then taking up his post with John's previous company . His experience is as wide as it is diverse and his understanding of the industry is sound. On 3rd March 2014 he joined M-Press Fittings looking after the Southern Region sales and now taking up the role of Training and Development for the company, it's customers and supply partners.
Dean Charles, Midlands Region Sales & Business Development Manager (OEM Divison)
Dean looks after all of the OEM business for M-Press as well as his distributors. He has a solid background in Commercial Distribution which in turn has given him the opportunity to work with and alongside many of the country's larger commercial M&E contractors. His specialism is OEM sales and he has managed to accrue some impressive experience in this field. He has worked on many large projects with clients such as Nissan and Network Rail. His most recent projects have involved T Clarke, Westfield, ARC Mechanical and Acumen Technical. Dean joined M-Press in September 2015.
James Mountain, Operations Supervisor
James looks after all of our internal sales and internal operations. Along with Danny, he has responsibility for both of our warehouses and oversees order acknowledgments, picking lists and packing. James is also the main contact for our distribution partners.
Danny Blackburn, Operations Manager
Danny is responsble for our logistics and warehouse operation. He ensures all stock is checked thorougly and is located correctly. He looks after the tube racks and ensures our handling and storage of pipe and fittings meets and exceeds the requirements expected. He is the main contact for our forwarding partners / carriers.
Mick Crooks, Warehousing Manager
Mick looks after our fittings and pipe warehouse's. He also looks after our stock control systems and assists the sales team in picking, packing and arranging collection and delivery of the orders.
